About Robert Fronjian

I’m Robert Fronjian. I won few amateur bodybuilding shows when I was younger and later became an endurance athlete of some sort.

The first page of my website says that I won over 16 NPC bodybuilding titles in the lightweight division.

The Mr. USA Lightweight division Championships, including four Overall Championship titles as a lightweight competitor (154 ¼), to name a few. Some mixed pairs titles with my training partner, a female medical school student, include the NPC Connecticut State, NPC Eastern Classic, NPC Big East, and NPC Empire State Championships.

I competed in more shows than I care to remember, but it was a lot of fun and hard work.

Amateur bodybuilding is the equivalent of  Men’s Classic Physique shows today. We just got stuck wearing skimpy posing trunks that I would unlikely wear today; it was an 80’s thing, I guess.

I later crossed over to endurance events, particularly the marathon, learning a great deal about endurance training and the weather along the way. I realized that I’m not fast, but if I work hard enough, I can finish. And to wear a hat if it’s going to be hot, especially if you’re bald.

I qualified for the Boston Marathon twice, entering once and finishing in 2016. I also participated and finished the 2015 Marine Corps Marathon, 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, 2013 ING New York City Marathon, 2012 Honda Los Angeles Marathon, 2012 Wipro San Francisco, and the 2012 ING Miami Marathon.

The marathon distance is not just a physical but a Mental test, especially the last few miles. It’s kind of like regret, it has a funny way of reminding you that you’re alive.

I  attended Dumont High School, located in Nothern, New Jersey, a few miles outside of NYC, where I participated on the football team as a defensive back and the track and field team in the pole vault.

However, wrestling was a true passion, and I found my competitive spirit as a captain of the varsity wrestling team.

Later I joined the Army before starting college; I completed my basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, and advanced training in flight operations at Ft. Rucker in Alabama. The Army assigned me to units in Washington D.C.and Newburgh, New York.

Upon entering college at Southern Connecticut State University, I wrestled, participated in R.O.T.C., and studied exercise science and nutrition, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Physical Therapist or Chiropractor.

I dislocated my elbow wrestling which led me to pack it in and transfer schools. I completed three full years to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in International Political Economy at Fordham University in New York.

I’m certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine CPT (Certified Personal Trainer), CES (Corrective Exercise Specialist), PES (Performance Enhancement Specialist), and Red Cross certified in AED/CPR. my default Physical Therapy Degree.

I was a gym owner and worked on Wall Street for over 20 years, and I have spent the last twelve years as an entrepreneur in the financial analytics field.

I live in New York City with my collection of acoustic guitars, bike, and gym membership. At present, I’m training for an Olympic Distance Triathlon.
